Darlene Baschuk

Darlene Baschuk is the Director of Individual Insurance Sales for Manulife Financial in the Prairies region.  She works with independent Advisors and MGA partners in the Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwestern Ontario areas, supporting their efforts to grow their insurance business with Manulife.  

Darlene began her career in the financial services industry in 1992 as a Product Specialist.  She spent time in a head office capacity developing marketing strategies and training other product specialists for Canadian field offices.  In 1995, Darlene was appointed to head up the insurance division of a major national financial planning firm, where over the next 10 years she helped significantly increase insurance sales of the operation.  During that time she was responsible for a team of over 45 Insurance Wholesalers, as well as overseeing the head office operations and relationships with all manufacturing partners.  

In 2005, she was appointed Vice President, Living Benefits Marketing for two major insurance companies and was very pleased to join Manulife in early 2011.  

Darlene excels at developing strong relationships with others and uses her extensive field and head office experience to assist those she works with achieve greater success within their own businesses.  

Winnipeg, Manitoba is home for Darlene, where she works alongside Dave Thompson, her spouse, who is the Regional Marketing Director for National Accounts in the Prairies.  She enjoys her home life with Dave and her teenage daughter where she is actively involved in many activities including playing hockey and ringette in the winter and walleye and sturgeon fishing in the summer as well as working towards completing another half-marathon.
