CE Category Changes - effective January 1, 2025

FP Canada's CE requirements are now grouped into three categories: Financial Planning, Professional Responsibility, and General CE.

* The category of Financial Planning now includes CE focused on professional skills. The addition of this new CE category is intended to recognize and emphasize the importance of developing and maintaining professional skills as a core competency of professional financial planning. Note that CE in the Financial Planning category must be accredited by FP Canada.

* Professional Responsibility CE now requires pre-accreditation by FP Canada.

* The General CE category now includes CE in the Giving Back category.

* CE that previously qualified in the Practice Management or Product Knowledge categories may now qualify in the General CE category.

Important notes - Advisors are responsible for ensuring that CE credits are applicable to the individual regulatory, licensing, designation, and professional membership bodies under which they are governed.
